Fresh Fitness Denmark is now part of Fitness World

Low-cost operator Fitness World has taken over its competitor Fresh Fitness in Denmark. The transaction brings together the two fastest growing fitness chains in the country. The combined company has more than 150 facilities, 450,000 members and more than 3,500 employees.

Per Lyngbak Nielsen, CEO of Fitness World commented the acquisition: "For us, the merger follows the idea 'The best of both fitness worlds'. We will use the best practices of both chains to set a new standard for fitness in Denmark." There is no fixed schedule for the changes which are necessary to achieve the integration into one provider.

However, Fresh Fitness CEO Rasmus Ingerslev ensures that the process is in best hands: "The acquisition of Fresh Fitness through Fitness World is the seventh transaction of this type. Therefore, I am very relaxed and look forward to the exciting future for our members and employees ". In future, Rasmus will serve as Vice Chairman of the supervisory board of Fitness World.
